“I felt like I wasn’t pretty enough to do a sexy shoot as I have scars from a recent event where I was burnt at work and also have stretch marks from my weight loss.”
I saw Zest Photography on TikTok and how they were empowering women and wanting women in Perth to do a shoot so I took the opportunity.
At first, I was terrified about doing a photoshoot. I thought about backing out multiple times due to self-doubt and low self-worth.
It was the first step in becoming comfortable with my new body after a massive weight loss and felt it would help me get comfortable around the camera.
I felt so looked after from the Zest team with initial phone calls and connection from the team checking in on me and helping me prepare. It was so much help!
Prior to my photoshoot, I was feeling nervous but through amazing guidance from my photographer I then started to feel comfortable and confident and the nerves never came back.
I honestly wasn’t sure what type of theme I was going for but after some googling I decided on the more boudoir style photos.
Being able to bring my partner and have him there to encourage me and even get a couple of photos with him. I’m so glad and thankful I was able to share my experience with him and have him as a helping hand for the day.

It means a lot to have photos like this while I’m still young. Life goes by so fast and it is important to capture special moments like this that I will be able to show my kids.
I got a portfolio and I plan to frame the photos and put some of them up in my very long hallway in my home like the ones of me and my partner and probably put the more sexy ones in my pole dancing room.

It was honestly an amazing experience! I do not regret stepping out of your comfort zone and just going for it. You can bring your partner and include them in the photos and get some amazing couple photos or just boost your confidence.
