Missy's Story
Missy has been through some serious personal transformation and as a mother she just wanted happiness and joy for her and her children and saw her life as a fairy-tale with a dark side.
In this shoot Missy wanted to remind herself of the darkness she had faced and fought to come through and the happiness she now has with her son and new partner. Today, her life is different and that is how she sees her life – The darkness being gone, and she is now living in the light. Hear her story below…
Prior to my shoot, I was a bit nervous and very stressed. I’ve had a rough three years of pain, heartbreak, grief, and trauma, so I was completely burnt out.
I’ve learned and grown so much from everything I’ve been through and I wanted to show that, in a beautiful and unique way. I wanted to express myself.

To show my journey, and my growth. It felt like I had struggled so much and held everything together the best I could for my family…I needed to do something for myself for a change.

I was being encouraged to show my entire story, which was really therapeutic. It was like another form of processing everything I’d gone through.
I was blown away by how I felt after the shoot. I felt so refreshed, I felt like I finally had a moment dedicated to me. It was an amazing experience.

I absolutely love the photos. They look incredible and it was so hard to pick just a few out of the entire lot. I bought three pieces of artwork to hang in our living area and one is in our room.

What would you say to woman in the same position to you and not sure if they should have their own experience?
Go for it. Seriously, if you’re thinking about it and it feels like this would help you, then just give it a shot. It’s worth it and there’s a reason you were drawn to it. I didn’t think I’d be chosen for this and I definitely didn’t expect to have such an uplifting experience, but I did and the photos look fantastic. Amongst all my painful memories, I can add another good one. If you relate to any of this, give yourself a good memory, and go for it. You can thank me later. :)
