Amy's Story
Embarking on a photography experience to rediscover yourself is not the sort of thing you do everyday and yes, it is nerve racking! You are not on your own though as you will read from Amy’s story below. She has come from a past of pain and giving away her power to now taking it back. “For someone that has had a lifetime of abuse from men and has been continuously body shamed and put down my entire life, I have got to say a huge thank you to the wonderful team at Zest Photography for giving me my power back. I fell in love with myself again and looking at such life changing photos has showed me and illuminated not just my external beauty but my inner goddess as well. I felt like a queen and will never feel inadequate or self doubt myself ever again because I have these beautiful images which will remind me on a daily basis that I am enough and I will never let anyone take my power from me ever again.
I wanted to feel more than just like a mum. With three children I feel like all people perceive me as is, as a single mum. I am more than that and I wanted to show the world that I am a strong independent woman and there’s more to me than just being a mother.
From the very beginning I was contacted by Zests client consultant Abbey. After sharing my story I was lucky enough to be chosen to receive a photography experience. Abbey was very patient and allowed me the time to decide if I wanted to pursue it or not. Abbey is amazing and is very compassionate in listening to the reasons why people are wondering about doing it. I think it was her patience and empathy that really made me to decide to take the leap and I did. I’m glad I did.

Abbey introduced me to Adriana my photographer and she was so supportive and so passionate about helping me to create the exact photo shoot that I wanted from costume discussion to the different images I wanted in able to tell my story. Adriana was very warm and welcoming for when I first arrived. I was a bit nervous at first but I very quickly lost my nerves because she really helps you to believe in yourself and was incredible in guiding me through the whole process. I even had the confidence to go into nude shoots and they were amazing.

I was then greeted by the lovely owner Gary. We had a great conversation about why people get their shoots, especially women. I was very inspired by the enthusiasm and vision Gary explained that he has for creating client’s dreams. Gary was very professional and helpful in choosing the right product for myself.
Every single member of Zest photography were so welcoming and made the experience so enjoyable. It was an experience of a lifetime. I’ll definitely be back in the future with my family.!”
