Your makeup session is the perfect opportunity to wind down and relax before your photoshoot.

Our professional artists will pamper your skin while adding the glamour and  vibrancy to help make you feel beautiful.

Maybe this is your first time having your makeup done by a professional artist,  if so here are a few tips to help you prepare for your session.

Once you have booked your photoshoot and makeup session…

1.  Look for Inspiration

Looking at picture references to find the style of makeup you would like to wear can be helpful for you to find the perfect style. Find photos similar to your skin and hair colours to use as inspiration.

Do you want to feature your eyes or have bright colourful lips?

If you like, bring along photos to share your ideas with your makeup artist.

Do you want something inspired by 1940’s Hollywood or a gothic smokey eye?

Or do you just want a natural look?

Our makeup artist will ask what you like and match a makeup look to compliment your style.

Leading up to your makeup session…

2. Salon treatments

If you are having any laser, waxing, or intensive salon treatments do so at least 3 days before your photoshoot. Often these treatments can leave your skin red and irritated so please give your skin a few days to heal.

3. Moisturise

It is important to moisturise your skin, this helps to increase elasticity to your skin preventing sagging or aging.  Most moisturizing lotions contain essential vitamins that give you a healthy glow when used regularly, and if you are prone to irritated skin will help to soothe your experience.

Do not forget your lips either!  Lip balm is great for dry lips.

4. Hydrate

Drinking a lot of water in the days before and the day of your photoshoot will make a big difference! It will help to flush out toxins from your body reducing puffiness. Water also helps to balance your skins PH levels which contributes to less acne and blemishes.

5. Beauty sleep

While we sleep, our body goes into repair mode and deep sleep encourages collagen production and cell regeneration.   Cellular regeneration happens faster when we are asleep whilst skimping on your sleep means you are not giving your body enough time to be effective.

When you are tired you are more likely to have dark circles and puffy eyes and feel generally stressed out.

So, have a good sleep the night before your glamour or boudoir photo shoot.

The day of your makeup session…

6. a clean face

Please arrive with a clean face, allowing you to be a blank canvas for our artist.

Yep, this means not wearing any makeup to your session.

A gentle cleanse in the morning will help to remove any make up residue and leave your skin fresh.  If you are feeling self-conscious about having a bare face, please don’t worry, we have seen it all, and know all the tricks of the trade for helping you feel your most beautiful!

If you want to use a specific product you can bring it along and discuss it with your makeup artist.

7. Minty fresh

We will be getting a little close to you while applying your makeup, it will go a long way to use a minty mouthwash or breath mints just before your session to avoid any uncomfortable thoughts. We also have mints ready for you our makeup area.

8. Sit back and relax

Having your makeup professionally done can feel like a massage for your face and you will definitely feel totally pampered.

Sit back, relax and enjoy your transformation!
