Liesl's Story
The last few years have been a roller-coaster.
As a full time member of Defence, recently home from deployment, going through a marriage breakdown, learning to live as a solo mum and generally feeling like life was stacked against me, I didn't think I would have a chance of being chosen to do a photoshoot!
In the weeks leading up to my shoot I was a mixture of anxious and excited!!! I was totally stepping out of my comfort zone!!
I justified my decision with the saying "if you don't try, you don't know"!!
Despite my outward facade, doing something like this, that was just for me - I was totally taking a leap of faith!
“Having the opportunity to do something just for myself was the ray of sunshine I needed in my life!”
“I needed to start learning how to love myself, even though I know I'm not everyone's cup of tea, but I can be my own!”
Wow! I never knew a glamour photography experience could be so physical. with so many weird twists and turns of my body, It was so much fun!
I felt so comfortable and had an absolute blast and lots of laughs were definitely had.
“I was surprised at how willing I was to let go and let someone else totally be in control, especially during my nudes!”
Seeing my photos after my photoshoot, and then collecting my album absolutely made me happy from the inside out! I barely recognised myself, but then I saw my sassy grin 😆 The photos are gorgeous and such great quality!
I’m excited to look back on my photos in a few years, or when I’m having a bad day to realise, I am beautiful in my own way and to love my body, no matter what. They are in a leather bound album and I absolutely love it!
To any woman thinking of doing an uplifting photoshoot for yourself, I have two words of advice….
DO IT!
Even if you're not sure, take the leap and totally embrace the experience!!! One of the most enjoyable, fun experiences I've done!!!
