Absolutely we do, everyday.
At Zest, we photograph women of all ages because we believe that beauty and sensuality does not disappear with age. The lines and changes our bodies carry are part of our story, our memories and the life we’ve lived. Age is a blessing that not all get to experience, and something to be treasured.
In fact, the vast majority of the women who walk through our studio doors are in their 50s, 60s, and beyond up to 90’s.
Some are mums rediscovering themselves after years of putting everyone else first. Some are celebrating birthdays, life milestones, divorces, new beginnings, or simply wanting to reconnect with themselves again.
So many women spend decades taking care of everyone else, raising families, building careers, supporting partners, and putting themselves last.
A photoshoot can become a moment to pause and reconnect with themselves again, not as someone’s mum, wife, or caretaker, but simply as themselves.
So many women spend years telling themselves they will do a photoshoot “one day” when they lose weight, when life settles down, when they feel more confident, or when they look a certain way again. Before they know it, time keeps moving and they start wondering if they’ve left it too late.
The truth is, there will probably never be a perfect moment where you suddenly feel completely ready. Confidence often comes after saying yes to yourself, not before. There is no thing such as too late.
Many women arrive feeling nervous before their photoshoot, convinced they will feel awkward or unsure in front of the camera. But one of the most rewarding parts of the experience is watching that slowly change throughout the session.
As women begin to relax, trust themselves, and see how beautiful they truly are, something shifts. By the end of the shoot, many leave standing a little taller, smiling differently, and seeing themselves in a way they haven’t for a very long time.
Honestly, what is “older” even supposed to look like anyway? Do women suddenly need to look “old” just because they’ve lived more life?
